Who’s behind it

Estimates are compiled and reviewed by Dan Whitlock, our Home Projects Editor. Dan Whitlock leads editorial at HomeUpgradeCost. He compiles pricing from contractor cost databases, published 2026 cost guides, and real quote ranges, then pressure-tests every estimator against them. He is not a licensed contractor — our tools are planning estimates, not bids.
